Serious Trouble With Your Teen?

During adolescence teens struggle with a variety of issues, sometimes resulting in serious behavioral or emotional problems such as anxiety, depression or substance abuse. Teens may show signs of these problems by having conflicts at school, failing grades, mood swings, making poor choices, being too aggressive or withdrawn, or becoming involved with drugs and/or alcohol.

The Bridges Service Center is an innovative program for troubled teens (ages 12–17) experiencing difficulties due to emotional, behavioral, substance abuse or co-occurring disorders*. We offer a separate intensive outpatient program for mental health concerns and one for substance abuse issues. Teens and their families may participate in either the mental health or substance abuse program or have the option to combine services from both programs. Program hours are after school in order to maintain home and school consistency. Private therapists or other professionals may join the Bridges Services Center treatment team and remain part of the client’s continued care.

*Co-occurring disorders refers to the presence of both a mental health disorder and a substance abuse condition.

Bridges Intensive Outpatient Program – Mental Health

The mental health program is designed for the teen experiencing significant emotional turmoil or psychosocial adjustment problems and is at risk in the home, school or community. The objective of Bridges Service Center is to offer an alternative to psychiatric inpatient, residential or partial day hospital programs by allowing the teen to receive intensive services without disrupting their school or home life. Program length ranges from six (6) to eight (8) weeks.

Bridges Intensive Recovery Program – Substance Abuse

The intensive recovery service is designed for the teen experiencing problems with alcohol and/or other mood altering drugs.  The program offers substance abuse counseling, family counseling, random drug screening, alcohol and drug education and the SASSI screening measure.  Each teen works on developing an individualized recovery plan that supports a sober, healthier lifestyle. The program is eight (8) weeks.
